Save the Date for our Final 2021 Clean Up: December 4th at 11am
We'll be holding our final 2021 garden clean up on December 4th at 11am. Come join us for one last day of socializing and winterizing your garden.

Plot Clean Up Deadline: December 5th
All gardeners must clean out their plots by December 5th. This includes pulling any annuals, discarding any unpicked produce, and cleaning the area around your plot. All garden structures and tomato cages remain in your plot over the winter. Tomato cages stored in the shed will be removed. Failure to clean out your plot by the deadline will result in not eligible for renewal in 2022.

Water is OFF
The water in the garden is off for the winter and hoses have been pulled. If you need water for any reason, please grab a watering can from the shed and use the rain barrels behind the shed.

We'll focus on weeding the common areas and picking fruit from the orchards. And after we're done, stick around to eat snacks and drink with your fellow gardeners. We encourage folks to bring treats to share!

We've partnered with Slow Food DC and Ward 1 Mutual Aid to put on “Share a Seed,” a socially distanced event on Sunday, April 18 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the garden. Share a Seed is a community-centric project designed to connect more people with the land, growing, and one another.

The event is open to the public and will offer seed swaps and garden materials to those in need. Garden members are encouraged to bring in seeds and materials for swap.

Ward 1 Mutual Aid will be on hand to provide information about vaccines and collect community essentials. We'll be providing garden tours to members of the public and volunteers will be able to help with some light garden and plot clean up.

Board Member Update
Welcome to our new board members, Lynda Laughlin (plot 6D) and Sasa Tang (1A)! Check out their bios in our About Us section and say hi when you see them around the garden. We also would like to thank our outgoing board members, Otis and Tibyron, for their years of service on the board.

2021 Opening
Euclid Street Community Garden will open for its 2021 season on April 10th with a mandatory garden opening day and clean up. Members should look to their email for details on times and make up days, if needed.

All gardeners are required to maintain social distancing and mask guidelines while working in the garden.

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to impact DC, the garden has decided to remain closed while DC DPR parks are closed and DC is under a Stay at Home order.

We encourage everyone to stay at home, avoid close contact with others, and stay as safe as possible during this crisis. The Garden Board will open the garden for the 2020 season as soon as we are able.

The annual Spring Garden Clean Up will likely be modified or canceled when we do open, but we will let gardeners know the plan for clean ups and communal work when the time comes.

The party begins with a Concert on Friday, November 7th and is followed by FREE Workshops and Community Project Days on Saturday and Sunday, November 8th and 9th. This is a chance to get your plot cleaned up for the end of the season and help make the garden clean and pretty for the winter. We'll be tackling the following:

Cleaning out your plot - removing all plant materials (other than vegetables you are actively growing), and labeling/storing all personal stakes, cages, fencing in the shed
Picking up trash
Weeding
Installing more rat fencing/hardware cloth
Possibly inaugurating the new compost bins

This is one of our two mandatory clean up days throughout the year, so we expect all garden members to participate. If you have a conflict and cannot make it, please plan to spend at least 30 min weeding or picking up trash in the common areas of the garden or the public part of the park in the next couple of weeks. Also, you will need to clean out your plot before Nov 22 if you're not able to join for the clean-up day.

The event is scheduled on Saturday, November 22nd from 10-12PM.

Time for our summer garden clean-up day! The weeds have gotten out of hand and it's time for us to get out there and put in a bit of time making it nice again.

Please come out and help clean up the garden. We do expect all garden members to participate, but if you have a conflict and cannot make it, please plan to spend at least 30 min weeding or picking up trash in the common areas of the garden or the public part of the park in the next couple of weeks.
